OUR GUESTS
They were our guests for almost a month , we did'nt know how time flied and when they left , but yes have memories captured in our camera . It had become a daily routine to check on them, their vusy activity every now and then , for al of us at home. It was such a tedious task for them working through out the day preparing for the D-day.I fact we were excited too .
The Brahminy starling couple were struggling to find anice ,safe place to welcome their young ones. Our bedroom window was the chosen safe place to lay the eggs we guessed. Its an amazing sight to see how birds work round the clock to bring their babies into this wonderful

Firstly it was making a good soft bed for laying eggs, understanding the nature's clock that now is the time to lay eggs. Surprising!! Once she layed the eggs both parents used to take turns to come and keep an eye on them , shooing away other birds trying to trouble them. That is a scene again to watch their fight. So much in their little brain to protect their babies. Where does that motherly affection come from, we wondered! Within 4 days the eggs hatched into fragile little babies, with their eyelids closed on the first day. Now, the time started to feed them to help them grow. The mama and papa took all the pains and left no stone unturned in bringing food for them. They took turns sometimes and happily did their job with all the care and never allowed us to go near .
Slowly the babies started recognising their parents' sound and started reacting , the moment they came, their neck would be seen out of the nest and scream I ... I.... I ....want food!!!
Within a months time the babies had grown into young Brahminy starlings able to fly in the sky , to discover this new world.Observing this our son marvels at nature and is very excited to welcome babies of another species of birds in our balcony this time. Time to capture the moment again in our cameras as it is such an unusual sight to get to see !!
