Feelings

 It was a feeling of warmth , a sense of belonging , unconditional love coming  towards you , an assurance that someone has come for you , to instill a belief in you that every thing will be taken care of , such was  the hug, the embrace,  of the soft pleasant  breeze . It was very unexpected , which suddenly came in from the window and just then,  a thought came to my mind , could it be really true , can this really happen . It kept me wondering , my eyes moist with mixed emotions , do things like these happen in today's times , it was all but just read or heard in stories or was I just dreaming. I pinched myself just to make sure it's for real. It was that time of the evening when I would wind up everything and had just come into the room to retire , tired with usual routine chores but not stressed . And this breeze woke me up , stirred me, surprised me , a strange excitement ran through my body , my heart was was waiting...

    I had a dream once. In that dream I saw all the organs and parts of the body fighting and arguing with each other as to who is the greatest of them all.  The bones said I am very required by the body as I give shape  and form to it otherwise the body would have been a ball of flesh !  The muscles said I give flesh to the body because of which the body looks elegant.  The skin said if I  weren't there  how  would the body cover your ugly frame and shape !  The mouth said i grind the food with teeth and saliva so that the body gets food. Then the stomach added I digest the food and give energy to the body otherwise how would you live?    The excretory organs replied no no , I remove the waste from the body or else how could the body be clean to work well ,the kidneys too echoed yes if the body isn't out of impurities the body wouldn't be alive even for a minute .   Hey all !! a musical hello to everyone!! What's that first thing that's comes to your mind when you listen "music", when I say so . Todays trends in musical world have changed considerably. Thanks to the digital world, everything is available on  a click.   Be it Bollywood, Indian , country music, folk music,   hindustani, ghazals, devotional, abhang, natyageet, bhavgeet , and so on , you have a plethora of them . As a student of Hindusthani music, I keep wondering how much can I really digest( obviously its too much to digest and one genre itself suffices for one whole life time to be true and practical). This learning does'nt really stop. And keeps continued life long or as they say  its a quest of the soul for years together and then in its future incarnations  if you believe.  Before I begin writing  today's  think piece ,   want to wish all readers a happy new year 2023 . Hope you have all begun the year with a bang  and may have an endless bucket list of "to do" things for the family , for career, for home, for hobbies and much more. For me musically , there's so much to do  as in riyaaz (the more the better) , everybody knows their limitations, and that music is a vast  ocean. It has enormous spectrum of opportunities and one should know where  he/she stands and what could be the next step. Today  I am just trying to share my thoughts on  how  I am trying to cope with my limitations as in voice type or quality..  We see a lot of young and energetic , promising artistes on reality  shows who are so amazing at their craft , I must say just to say "amazing" would be an understatement . So what about someone like me whose pitch or scale is low ,there is riyaaz  for everything but still...

 Music is all around , to feel it I  just try to let go of all other thoughts when I sing or listen .It's  I wonder in the thundering clouds just before rains.  Rain drops too bring down music to mother earth , and lo behold  there is greenery everywhere. Isn't it amazing I tell myself. I see it in the fluttering of leaves, when there is a cool breeze.   The breeze also feels like music when I am sitting silently on a rock gazing at  the rising sun.. I sense music when the birds are chirping in the morning or at tea time ,when I just want to do nothing but observe the colourful creatures that nature has in store for us.  It creates some kind of a musical wave  in the heart .Heart starts   pumping energitally , and I again feel the Music in the rhythm of the body the nature God gave us .  It is music for a mother when her baby cries or its music for a baby too when the baby hears mothers voice.  I love expressing mysel...

 Change is inevitable. It's very difficult to change yourself ,your habits, your thoughts . It can't happen overnight , after all you are made up of your thoughts which is reflected in your work. Accept that I need to change, for growth, for my wellbeing. Why do you change you change to improve, to learn, to quit the bad qualities in you, to bring in positivity, to bring peace in your mind, to be one with nature, to think I can. Tell yourself yes it is possible, with little effort everyday. Get up early in the morning, make a time table, follow discipline, you may find it burdensome, but tell yourself you got to do it, come what may.  You may compare yourself with others but this is the most dangerous thing you are doing, or you are simply trying to pity yourselffor the situation you are in and trying to avoid hard work.  Its raining, its pouring i said to myself looking out of the window. How am i supposed gofor work today . OUR GUESTS                      They were our guests for almost a month , we did'nt know how time flied and when they left , but yes have memories captured in our camera .     Gone are the days when we used to have cameras and camera rolls. It’s all primitive aah , now can I say so ? Those rolls and  counting and saving one for this occasion and one for that literally.  Today’s traffic is such a nightmare. Not to mention the traffic at peak hours!! Moving at a snails pace you just don’t know when you will reach your destination. With this in mind everyone is in hurry to squeeze through  , least bit bothered about the person next to you never realising he/ she too is equally in a hurry . And in this commotion the unwanted traffic jam is what you see. You are stuck neither can you come out nor can you move an inch forward. Now you find yourself cursing the fellow opposite you “ isko bhi abhi aana tha , thoda Rukjaata toh kya bigadta”  never understanding that he too is mumbling angrily the same thing about you.!! With this traffic jam  already creating chaos around , you get out of your gaadi  only to see people on bikes from behind squeezing through as if he doesn’t know what’s going on here and blocks  the traffic even more instead of making way for others coming from the opposite direction. It’s almost half an hour now...

  Have you tried saying hi to yourself?? Asked yourself how are you doing?? Had a chat with your own self?? Sounds funny hein naaa!! But I swear it’s a wonderful feeling to be friends with oneself. You don’t need to think twice what you speak . You are not lonely , you have company of you the person you love the most.   First thing in the morning say to yourself , hi me !! Hope you had a good sleep in the night . Just look at the smile that brings to your face. Say I love you to the moon and back, and again you are smiling!! Amazing isn’t it.     Pune a city of renowned musicians , theatre personalities ,a place for artists, young aspirants and equally an educational hub. Naturally I was too excited to be coming here to stay  after my graduation, as my father had a transferable job . So we were here until my father's next transfer . Somehow we managed to converse  either with Hindi or through the  language of action .
